We are offering a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, self motivated and organised individual to join our team as a Shunter and Loading Bay Operative.

 

Based in our busy state of the art Hub you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles around the yard, between parking and loading bays.

 

Due to the nature of the role you will be required to hold a category C+E entitlement on your driving licence.

 

Flexibility will be essential in this role as the hours will be  Monday to Friday Day shift, 39 hours per week - flexibility will be required to work other shift patterns as this is a 24 hour operation

Responsibilities

Your Shunter duties will include:

  • To ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles between parking bays and loading bays
  • To fuel vehicles as and when required
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks following TNT's policies and procedures
  • Report any mechanical defects
  • Report any vehicle accidents to the traffic office
  • Ensure the safety and security of all vehicles, equipment and goods
  • Undergo a driving skills assessment at any time when requested by Depot Management
  • Drive company vehicles in a safe and courteous fashion in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Transport and Highway Code. 

 

Part of the role will also see you play an important part in ensuring that all parcels are loaded and unloaded from the various vehicles and routed to the correct locations in time for the end of sort.
