Every year our teams deliver up to 150 million items through our network. Having the largest individual share of the national market and employing nearly 8,000 people in the UK there is no better time to join TNT.

As part of our continued expansion and exciting growth plans we are opening a new state of the art site in Dartford. This is huge investment for TNT and we are anticipating that it will bring substantial opportunities to colleagues and customer alike. As a result, we are looking to recruit a highly organised and pragmatic leader to join our new team as Tactical Linehaul Manager.

This is a unique and interesting role that will see you leading the Tactical Planning and Control team to achieve cost reductions and service improvement for the International and Domestic Linehaul network by identifying, planning and developing solutions that will ultimately increase efficiency and productivity. Therefore, it is essential that you are self-motivated and results driven with a genuine appetite for continuous improvement.

With a key focus on Linehaul Subcontractor Management, you will ensure that the most appropriate and cost effective suppliers are selected and that service quality is maintained through regular performance monitoring and annual supplier appraisals. Tactical planning is also a key element of this role as you will be pivotal to adjusting and balancing resource levels to ensure that we have the right level of sub-contractors in place to meet planned fluctuations in freight volumes. Your ability to coach, motivate and inspire will be essential as, in essence, you will drive results through your team.

Given the fast paced nature of this role, it is imperative that you have previous management experience, ideally gained within Logistics or a similar fast-paced environment. You will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to network and engage with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong project management skills coupled with the ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload are also essential requirements for this role.

Our team ethos at Dartford combined with years of experience; we believe that the company success is heavily reliant on our colleagues and joint team effort to make our business stronger.

In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive:

  • Attractive salary
  • London Weighting
  • Opportunity for real career progression
  • Excellent training and development package
  • Free on-site parking
